Our story starts with one person's heart for her community...
Mercy Arredondo, a lifelong resident of Cashion, partnered with Cornerstone Christian Center to establish the Mercy House and address the community's needs. Her goal was to reduce truancy and delinquency rates that prevented children from completing their primary education. Mercy understood that the future of the community depended on these young people, who were wasting their chances for success by dropping out of school and setting themselves on a path that could lead to incarceration or worse.
